Daniel Moon, MD

After receiving a BS & MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Moon worked as a management consultant advising large corporations including pharmaceutical and technology companies.

Unable to deny a calling ‘in his bones’ to care for patients (as a 5th generation physician), Dr. Moon pursued medical school at Columbia University. Recognizing that healthcare is increasingly limited by financial, organizational, and regulatory constraints, Dr. Moon also received an MBA from the Harvard Business School to explore how our healthcare system should better serve its patients.

He completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Washington University in Saint Louis/Barnes-Jewish Hospital and went on to a Foot & Ankle Orthopedic Fellowship at Harvard University/Massachusetts General Hospital. He remains an active member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.

Dan’s first experienced the wonders of Colorado during college when he would take frequent weekend trips to hike and camp in Colorado during his multiple summers working at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. He had little idea that the State would become his home prior to retirement, but he was fortunate to find an academic orthopaedic surgery position with the University of Colorado. Now, the mountains are always in sight as he drives across the Front Range from Longmont to Denver taking care of his patients.

Dan is honored to be on the Colorado Orthopaedic Society board and help advocate for our collective patients, their unique relationships with their physicians, our medical profession, and the future of healthcare
