About Us

Since 1985, Colorado Orthopaedic Society (COS) has served as the voice of Colorado orthopaedic surgeons in the public policy arena.

Laws and regulations touch every aspect of an orthopaedic practice. As a result, orthopaedic surgeons have no choice but to engage in the public policy process to ensure that Colorado patients receive the best musculoskeletal care possible.

Working in partnership with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) on federal issues and the Colorado Medical Society (CMS) and other specialty society partners on state issues, COS has played a critical role in protecting the professional and business interests of Colorado’s orthopaedic surgeons.

OUR MISSION IS RESOLUTE – Our mission is to support the highest quality musculoskeletal medical care and to serve as advocates for our patients, our members, and our specialty.

OUR VISION IS CLEAR – To ensure orthopedic physicians believe that COS is their home and community for career fulfillment and professional identity.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT – The mission of the Colorado Orthopaedic Society is to serve as the primary organization in the State of Colorado representing the specialty of orthopedic medicine, promoting the interests and values of orthopedic physicians and patients by giving physicians the tools to support the highest quality of musculoskeletal medical care.
